Job summary

WesTrac’s Dubbo Workshop is seeking skilled technicians to take ownership of CAT machine rebuilds, diagnostics and component overhauls. You will work in a high‑performing team delivering safe, reliable machines for peak performance, with structured training and real career progression opportunities.

Successful applicants will handle end‑to‑end workshop rebuild activities, collaborate with supervisors, and participate in ongoing development through the WesTrac Institute.

Qualifications

• Australian‑recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant).
• Proven rebuilds/major component overhaul/assembly experience.
• CAT or comparable surface mining gear; strong diagnostics/fault‑finding.
• Proactive, safety‑first mindset; unrestricted driver's licence.
• Field Service Experience (Highly regarded).

Responsibilities

• Strip, assess, rebuild and reassemble CAT machines and major components to OEM standards.
• Conduct inspections, diagnostics and quality assurance checks throughout the rebuild process.
• Complete workshop maintenance, repairs and rebuild activities in line with production schedules and customer requirements.
• Maintain a clean, safe and efficient workshop environment while working with Supervisors and peers.

About the Opportunity

Join our Dubbo Workshop Team and be part of a highly skilled team delivering industry-leading CAT machine rebuilds and maintenance services to world-class standards. You'll take ownership of machine overhauls, diagnostics, repairs, and component rebuilds within our workshop, ensuring every machine leaves safe, reliable, and ready for peak performance.
