Job summary

WesTrac in Cobar is seeking an experienced Field Service technician to perform on-site maintenance, repairs and diagnostics on CAT equipment, ensuring reliability and peak performance.

You will conduct inspections, complete scheduled field service activities, and maintain a safe work environment while collaborating with site teams and supervisors.

Qualifications

• Australian‑recognised mechanical trade (e.g., Cert III HD Plant).
• Proven rebuilds/major component overhaul/assembly experience.
• CAT or comparable surface mining gear; strong diagnostics/fault‑finding.
• Proactive, safety‑first mindset; unrestricted driver's licence.
• Field Service Experience (Highly regarded).

About the Opportunity

WesTrac | Cobar - Field Service

Join our Cobar Field Service Team and be part of a highly skilled crew delivering industry-leading CAT machine support in the field. You'll take ownership of maintenance, repairs, diagnostics, and component change-outs on-site, ensuring every machine operates safely, reliably, and at peak performance.

What you'll do
