Job summary

MacKellar Group requires a Reliability & Maintenance Planning Superintendent to lead a high‑performing planning function at Carmichael Mine, ensuring maximum equipment availability and safe production outcomes.

You will drive maintenance strategies, develop preventative and predictive plans, lead a mobile fleet team and partner with Operations and Technical teams to achieve site performance objectives. This is a FIFO leadership role based in Queensland.

Qualifications

• Engineering or trade qualification in related discipline.
• Leadership experience in Maintenance Planning or Asset Management within mining or heavy industry.
• Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment maintenance and reliability principles.
• Experience with maintenance planning systems and reporting tools.
• Current Queensland Driver Licence and Standard 11, G1/G8/G9 Supervisor competencies, G2 (RIIRIS402) Risk Management competency.

Responsibilities

• Lead the Reliability and Maintenance Planning team across the mobile fleet.
• Develop and implement preventative, predictive and reliability-centred maintenance strategies.
• Manage maintenance planning, scheduling and execution to optimise fleet availability.
• Monitor equipment performance and analyse reliability trends to identify improvement opportunities.
• Prepare and present weekly and monthly maintenance performance reports.
• Ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and within budget.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance fleet reliability and maintenance performance.
• Collaborate with Operations, Maintenance and Technical teams to achieve site performance objectives.
• Maintain accurate maintenance documentation and reporting.

Carmichael Mine | Permanent Full-Time | 5/2/4/3 Roster

MacKellar is the mining services contractor for Bravus' Carmichael Mine, operating one of Queensland's largest mobile mining fleets. We are seeking an experienced Reliability & Maintenance Planning Superintendent to lead our planning and reliability function, ensuring our fleet operates safely, efficiently and at peak performance.

This is a key leadership role responsible for driving maintenance strategies, improving equipment reliability and leading a high-performing planning team in a large-scale mining environment.

About the Role

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• An Engineering qualification or Trade qualification in Plant Mechanics, Heavy Diesel or a related discipline
• Demonstrated leadership experience in Maintenance Planning, Reliability or Asset Management within mining or heavy industry
• Strong knowledge of mobile mining equipment maintenance and reliability principles
• Experience with maintenance planning systems and reporting tools
• Excellent communication, analytical and stakeholder management skills
• A proactive approach to continuous improvement and team leadership
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
• Current Standard 11
• Current G1, G8 and G9 Supervisor competencies
• Current G2 (RIIRIS402) Risk Management competency
