Job summary

MacKellar is seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to lead a high-performing team on a permanent 7/7 day and night roster. The role involves frontline leadership to ensure safe, efficient maintenance and fleet reliability across a long-life mining operation.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent, you will drive safety, manage priorities, and deliver maintenance outcomes while fostering a strong safety culture and team performance. Queensland-based, with FIFO to site.

Qualifications

• Trade qualification in diesel fitting or equivalent detected.
• Mining supervisor qualifications (G1/G8/G9) or equivalent.
• Mandatory safety and medical clearances for mining operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a maintenance team in a safe, productive environment.
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance across the fleet.
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget.
• Promote safety culture through visible leadership and compliance.
• Complete maintenance reporting, documentation and daily work management.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve equipment reliability and workshop performance.
• Build strong working relationships across maintenance and operations.

About the Role

We're seeking an experienced Maintenance Supervisor to join our Maintenance team on a permanent 7/7 rotating day and night roster.

Reporting into the Maintenance Superintendent, you'll provide frontline leadership to ensure maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently and to the highest standard while supporting fleet reliability and team performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and mentor a team of maintenance personnel in a safe, productive environment
• Coordinate planned and breakdown maintenance activities across the fleet
• Ensure work is completed safely, on schedule and within budget
• Promote a strong safety culture through visible leadership and compliance
• Complete maintenance reporting, documentation and daily work management activities
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives to improve equipment reliability and workshop performance
• Build strong working relationships across maintenance and operations teams

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Australian recognised Trade Qualification (Diesel Fitter or equivalent)
• Previous experience as a Maintenance Supervisor within a mining environment
• Demonstrated commitment to safety leadership and team development
• Current Mining Supervisor G1, G8 & G9 (formerly S1, S2 & S3)
• Current G2 - Carry Out the Risk Management Process (RIIRIS402D)
• Current Standard 11 (or ability to obtain)
• Current Queensland Coal Board Medical (or ability to obtain)
• Current Queensland Driver Licence
