Job summary

Pullman Magenta Shores on the NSW Central Coast seeks a passionate Casual Pizza Chef (Pizzaiolo) to craft authentic pizzas during peak services, events and seasonal rushes by hand-stretching dough and assembling toppings.

You will work closely with the Sous Chef, operate various pizza ovens, and contribute to a fast-paced kitchen while upholding food safety standards and a collaborative team approach.

Qualifications

• Proven hands-on experience as a Pizza Chef, Pizzaiolo, or Line Cook in a busy kitchen.
• Strong dough-handling technique (shaping, stretching, and tossing).
• Familiarity with commercial pizza ovens (wood-fired, deck, or conveyor).
• Valid Food Safety Certificate / Food Handler’s Card.
• Flexible to work casual shifts including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Responsibilities

• Prepare fresh dough, hand-stretch and toss bases, and bake pizzas to perfection.
• Safely operate commercial pizza ovens to maintain consistent quality and speed.
• Ensure pizza section is prepped, stocked, and organized for rush periods.
• Work with kitchen leadership and assist other stations during quieter times.
• Strictly follow food safety protocols and maintain clean, organized workstations.

Purpose

We are seeking a passionate, energetic, and reliable Casual Pizza Chef (Pizzaiolo) to join our vibrant culinary team. In this dynamic role, you will bring our menu to life during peak services, events, and seasonal rushes by crafting authentic, high-quality pizzas from scratch. Working closely with the Sous Chef, you will take pride in delivering exceptional taste and presentation in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Primary Responsibilities

Prepare fresh dough, hand-stretch and toss bases, assemble signature toppings with precision, and bake pizzas to perfection.

Safely monitor and operate commercial pizza ovens to maintain consistent cooking quality and speed of service.

Ensure the pizza section is fully prepped, stocked, and organized ahead of rush periods.

Work in sync with kitchen leadership and assist across other prep stations during quieter periods to maintain service flow.

Strictly adhere to food safety protocols, execute daily FIFO rotation, and keep workstations and equipment spotless.

Skills & Experience

Proven hands-on experience as a Pizza Chef, Pizzaiolo, or Line Cook in a busy kitchen.

Strong dough-handling technique (shaping, stretching, and tossing) and sharp knife skills.

Practical familiarity with commercial pizza ovens (wood-fired, deck, or conveyor).

Valid Food Safety Certificate / Food Handler’s Card.

Flexibility to work casual shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays.

Physical stamina to thrive in a warm kitchen environment and lift prep supplies (up to 20kg).

A collaborative mindset with clear communication skills and a strong work ethic.
