Job summary

Harmony Australasia is seeking a vigilant Pitram Operator at the CSA Mine near Cobar, NSW, to coordinate underground operations and ensure safety, production, quality and environmental targets are met and recorded.

Working on a 7/7 days & nights roster, you will monitor underground equipment, manage data in Pitram, and collaborate with supervisors and support teams to drive performance and compliance in a dynamic mining environment.

Job description

The CSA Mine is located 11 kilometres north-west of Cobar, central western New South Wales. At 1.9 kilometres deep, it is one of Australia’s deepest underground mines and is Australia’s highest-grade copper mine.

Harmony is the largest gold producer by volume in South Africa and is a significant operator of gold tailings retreatment facilities. CSA Mine has recently joined Harmony Australasia, marking the beginning of an exciting new chapter. The acquisition underpins Harmony’s strategy to expand its Australasian footprint and establish a strong, diversified copper portfolio, complemented by the Eva Copper Mine Project in Queensland, currently under construction, and set to become the state’s largest open‑pit copper mine upon commissioning. In Papua New Guinea, Harmony owns and operates the Hidden Valley mine and owns 50% of the Tier 1 Wafi-Golpu copper-gold project. These assets are supported by the Harmony Australasia regional corporate office located in Milton, Brisbane.

We are seeking an attentive and safety driven Pitram Operator who will be responsible for the coordination of the underground operational activities, ensuring that safety, production, quality and environmental targets are achieved and recorded by administering mine site operations.

Working on a 7/7 days & nights rotational roster, this position is available on a residential basis only.

As the Pitram Operator, your duties will entail the following, however not limited to:

Support safe and efficient execution of the daily underground mine plan

Monitor and dispatch underground equipment and personnel

Maintain accurate production and operational data in Pitram

Coordinate with supervisors, operators, technical services and support teams

Identify and communicate operational delays and opportunities for improvement

About You:

To be successful, you will bring the following skills, experience and personal attributes:

Experience with fleet management systems, preferably Pitram

Exposure to jumbos, loaders, haul trucks and support equipment

Strong computer literacy and data management skills

Excellent communication and coordination skills

High attention to detail and strong organisational skills

Current Manual C Class Driver's Licence

Strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screen
