Smith & Co. is seeking Pipe Welders and Pipe Fitters for large-scale projects near the Port of Brisbane. Starting full-time casual with potential transfer to full-time, these roles offer ongoing work on new processing plants and storage facilities in QLD & NSW.

Key tasks include welding and fitting pipework, fabrication of structural steel, and working to drawings and welding procedures. Candidates must have relevant tickets and pass tests for 6G pipe welds.

Qualificações

• Certificate III in Engineering (Boilermaker or Welder) with oil and gas or heavy industry exposure.
• Experience in GTAW, SMAW, FCAW and GMAW welding to code standards.
• Proven ability to interpret drawings and welding procedures.

Responsabilidades

• Pipe fitting and welding of small and large bore pipework.
• Structural steel fabrication, assembly and installation.

About the Role

We are looking for Pipe Welders & Pipe Fitters to join large‑scale projects near the Port of Brisbane as well as DIDO projects in QLD & NSW. Starting full‑time casual with option to transfer to Full Time for successful candidates. Multiple ongoing positions available for installation / upgrade work on a new processing plant and storage facility.

Job Details

• Pay rates:$58.93 per hour + Overtime, Penalties
• Shifts:6:00am start 8-10 hour days Monday to Friday with overtime on offer
• Jobs:New Construction, plant upgrade, and maintenance projects of large-scale manufacturing facilities heavily focused in the oil and gas sector
• Location:Port of Brisbane and surrounds & DIDO Roles available

What you’ll be doing

• Pipe Fitting & welding of small and large bore pipework
• Structural steel fabrication, assembly & installation
• Working from drawings, welding procedures and specifications
• Working safely, independently and as part of a team

What we’re looking for

• Certificate III in Engineering (Boilermaker / Welder)
• Experience in Oil & Gas or heavy industry
• Proficiency in GTAW, SMAW, FCAW & GMAW (STT) welding
• Ability to weld to AS3992 / ASME XI standards
• Must pass 6G pipe weld tests (GTAW/SMAW – 100% X-Ray)
• Current tickets: White Card, Working at Heights, Confined Space
• Strong safety focus & solid work ethic
• Driver’s License and ability to pass pre‑employment medical & D&A screening

Highly Regarded

• Previous Oil & Gas, petrochemical, or energy sector experience or shutdown experience
• Strong understanding of welding procedures and codes
• Additional tickets (e.g. rigging, EWP, forklift)
• Proven ability to deliver high-quality work under pressure and tight timeframes
