Pile Group is seeking a reliable, motivated Piling Labourer / Ground Crew Assistant to join our installation team in Victoria. You will receive hands-on training in screw pile installation, machinery operation and site coordination, with the opportunity to progress into a Leading Hand.

This hands-on, physically active role involves working with steel piles across Melbourne and regional Victoria, with occasional Saturday work and regional projects requiring overnight stays.

Qualifications

• Construction experience preferred with willingness to learn specialised piling skills.
• Interest in operating machinery and working outdoors in a hands-on role.
• Reliable, motivated and hardworking attitude to grow with the business.

Responsabilités

• Assist operators with installation of steel screw piles.
• Prepare and set up equipment on construction sites.
• Handle and position steel piles and installation equipment.
• Assist with pile set-out and site measurements.
• Cut steel piles using grinders and other equipment.
• Assist with excavation, drilling and general site preparation.
• Load and unload machinery, tools and materials.
• Maintain tools, equipment and machinery.
• Complete basic site documentation and installation records.
• Keep work areas clean, organised and safe.
• Work closely with operators and crew to complete jobs efficiently.

About Pile Group

Pile Group is an established Victorian piling business delivering end-to-end foundation solutions across residential, commercial and civil construction projects.

With our own state‑of‑the‑art manufacturing facility in Carrum Downs and experienced installation teams, we manufacture, supply and install steel screw piles throughout Victoria.

About the Role

You'll work alongside our experienced piling operators, assisting with the installation of steel screw piles and general site operations.

This is a hands‑on, physically active role involving machinery, equipment, site preparation and installation work.

As you develop your skills and experience, you'll have the opportunity to take on additional responsibilities, including operating machinery, coordinating site activities and eventually assisting in leading a piling crew.

Working arrangements:

• Casual employment with opportunities for regular ongoing work

• Predominantly Monday to Friday

• Occasional Saturday work when required

• Some regional projects requiring overnight stays away from home

• Work across Melbourne and regional Victoria

What You’ll Be Doing

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Assisting operators with the installation of steel screw piles

• Preparing and setting up equipment on construction sites

• Handling and positioning steel piles and installation equipment

• Assisting with pile set‑out and site measurements

• Cutting steel piles using grinders and other equipment

• Assisting with excavation, drilling and general site preparation

• Loading and unloading machinery, tools and materials

• Keeping work areas clean, organised and safe

• Working closely with operators and other crew members to complete jobs efficiently
