Job summary

NSW Health is seeking an Allied Health Assistant - Physiotherapy at Blacktown & Mt Druitt Hospitals. This permanent, full-time role supports physiotherapists and patient-centred care in a dynamic clinical environment.

You will assist with exercises, document progress and help patients participate in activities that maximise independence, while maintaining professional standards and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance or willingness to undertake training.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience in a health environment.
• Ability to work as a contributing member of the allied health team.
• Ability to prioritise workload and meet deadlines within scope of practice.
• Computer literacy and knowledge of Microsoft Office and email applications.
• Knowledge and understanding of Work Health and Safety legislation.

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual and group exercise, therapy and patient education programs.
• Support patients to participate in activities that maximise their functional independence.
• Observe and document patient attendance, presentation and therapy outcomes accurately.
• Communicate patient progress, changes and relevant information to the supervising Allied Health Professional.
• Organise and prioritise your workload while maintaining confidentiality and professional standards.
