Job summary

NSW Health in Blacktown and Mount Druitt Hospitals is seeking an Allied Health Assistant to support Occupational Therapy services and help patients maximise independence through meaningful therapy programs.

You will work with a multidisciplinary team, participate in therapy, exercise and education activities, and contribute to safe, person-centred care in a flexible, team-oriented environment. Permanent part-time role, 19 hours per week.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Allied Health Assistance preferred.
• Experience in a health environment is desirable.
• Ability to prioritise workload delegated by supervising AHPs.
• Computer literacy including Microsoft Office and email.

Responsibilities

• Assist with individual and group therapy, exercise and education programs.
• Support patients to maximise functional independence through therapy.
• Observe and report changes in patient function, progress and presentation.
• Accurately document attendance, therapy activities and observations.
• Manage allocated workloads and communicate effectively with the healthcare team.
