Job summary

The TPCH Laboratory Group in Queensland Health is seeking a confident Phlebotomist to join a busy metropolitan laboratory network across The Prince Charles, Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals.

You will collect specimens, work as part of a supportive team, and contribute to patient care while upholding safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

  • Experience in specimen collection/phlebotomy following established policies.
  • Knowledge of standard precautions when handling patients and specimens.
  • Ability to follow instructions with minimal supervision after training.
  • Strong teamwork and effective communication with staff and patients.
  • Commitment to quality management and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Will collect specimens and perform phlebotomy in a hospital lab setting.
  • Work across TPCH, Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospital sites as required.
  • Maintain patient safety, documentation, and adherence to policies.

The TPCH Laboratory Group brings together laboratories at The Prince Charles, Redcliffe and Caboolture Hospitals, all operating under NATA accreditation. To support collaboration, professional development and a strong team culture, staff may be required to work across all three laboratory sites.This is a great opportunity for a confident and adaptable Phlebotomist who enjoys working with patients, values teamwork and is looking to broaden their experience across a busy metropolitan laboratory network.Key competencies (role specific criteria)You will be assessed on your ability to demonstrate the following:Demonstrated experience or ability to acquire experience in the correct procedures of Specimen Collection/phlebotomy including the application of established policies and guidelines with minimal supervision.Demonstrated knowledge or the ability to acquire knowledge of the importance of standard precautions in dealing with patients and biological specimens.Proven ability to follow instructions and work conscientiously and accurately with minimal supervision after careful instruction.Proven ability to work effectively as a member of a team and to communicate effectively with clients, clinical staff and colleaguesPositive focus upon patient care within a hospital health care environment.Demonstrate a high level of commitment to the principles of quality management and continuous quality improvement.Why work with us?Work alongside passionate professionals in a supportive and inclusive environment that values people and prioritises employee success and wellbeing.
