Job summary

Queensland Health is seeking a team leader to manage phlebotomy, specimen collection and central specimen reception services at Redland Hospital. In collaboration with the Supervising Scientist, you will ensure procedures meet NATA, ISO and Pathology Queensland standards.

You will lead teams, drive quality systems, and engage with stakeholders to deliver safe and efficient pathology services within a supportive environment.

Qualifications

• Well-developed knowledge of Phlebotomy procedures or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and skills in this area.
• Demonstrated knowledge of Specimen Collection procedures or the ability to rapidly acquire knowledge and skills in this area.
• Knowledge of Pathology information systems (e.g., AUSLAB, Cerner Millennium) and their relationship to laboratory practice.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and leadership skills to lead teams to positive outcomes, with commitment to quality and safety.

Responsibilities

• Manage, coordinate and assist in providing phlebotomy, specimen collection and specimen reception services.
• Ensure compliance with NATA, ISO and Pathology Queensland policies and protocols.
• Lead and supervise staff in line with Queensland Health HR practices and Code of Conduct.
• Maintain quality systems to meet accreditation requirements and drive continuous improvement.

Job description

To manage, coordinate and assist in providing phlebotomy, specimen collection and specimen reception services to the Redland Hospital.
