Job summary

Lifeline Australia is seeking a Philanthropy Coordinator to develop and steward mid-level and major donor relationships in a dynamic, growth-focused period. You will manage a defined caseload, build donor engagement, and contribute to fundraising outcomes through tailored strategies and compelling communications.

The role reports to the Philanthropy Manager, supports engagement plans for donors, and requires strong relationship management, event coordination, and data accuracy in Salesforce.

Qualifications

• Experience in fundraising, philanthropy, donor relations or a comparable relationship-based environment.
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain relationships with donors or stakeholders, with the confidence to develop relationships towards a financial or engagement outcome.
• Superior organisational and planning skills, with excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with strong listening and relationship-building skills.
• Experience planning and executing events and donor or stakeholder engagement activities.
• Curiosity and sound judgement, with the ability to identify opportunities and understand donor motivations and tailor engagement accordingly.
• Capability in relationship management software, preferably Salesforce, with a strong commitment to accurate data and disciplined relationship management.
• Passion for Lifeline’s mission and ability to communicate that mission authentically and inspire others to support it.
• Ability to work autonomously in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines and priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage and grow a portfolio of mid-value donors through tailored cultivation, solicitation and stewardship strategies.
• Build strong donor relationships and act as a key donor-facing representative of Lifeline Australia.
• Identify and qualify prospective major donors and support their transition into the major gifts program.
• Support the development and delivery of engagement plans for major donors and prospects.
• Coordinate donor engagement activities, including meetings, events, webinars and stewardship initiatives.
• Develop compelling donor communications and stewardship materials that strengthen engagement and support fundraising outcomes.
• Maintain accurate donor records, engagement activity and pipeline management in Salesforce.
• Prepare fundraising, pipeline and performance reports to support decision-making and program growth.
• Stay informed of philanthropy trends and contribute to the continuous improvement of fundraising and donor engagement practices.

ROLE

Reporting to the Philanthropy Manager, the Philanthropy Coordinator supports the objectives of the Philanthropy team in developing and stewarding mid-level and major donor relationships with Lifeline Australia.
