GEO Healthcare is seeking a Pharmacy Technician Team Leader for Ravenhall Correctional Centre, VIC. The role oversees medication management, inventory, and preparation for administration rounds within a prison healthcare setting.

Ideal candidate will coordinate staff, possess strong communication and IT skills, and have extensive pharmacy experience in hospital or community settings. Full-time role with base salary and allowances.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Hospital or Health Services Pharmacy Support or equivalent, as approved by the Pharmacy Board of Australia.
• Certificate IV in Community Pharmacy Dispensary required.
• Completion of a dispensary assistant module is highly desirable.
• Previous extensive work experience as a pharmacy technician in a hospital or the community.

About the roles

GEO Healthcare provides primary healthcare to men in Public Prisons across Victoria. The role of Pharmacy Technician Team Leaders at GEO Healthcare is responsible for the overall coordination of medication management at the GEO Healthcare facility, including the management of medication inventory and ordering under supervision. The role includes assisting in the preparation for medication administration rounds, administering of prescribed medication which has been prepared by a pharmacist in a dose administration aid (DAA).

Salary: 70000 + super (for full time role)

Other Requirements of the role:

• Completion of a dispensary assistant module will be highly regarded.
• Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contact with people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
• Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
• Working outside of ordinary business hours may be required.
• Onsite working (no hybrid or remote working).
