Job summary

GEO Healthcare is seeking an Administration Support Officer to manage patient health records and support health service delivery at GEO Healthcare locations, including prison facilities. You will maintain confidentiality, process health data, and ensure records are complete with proper signatures.

Role requires strong organisational and communication skills, the ability to work in a prison setting, and the ability to obtain a security clearance.

About the role

The Administration Support Officer (ASO) position is responsible for performing administrative duties, as required, which facilitate the coordination and provision of health service delivery in GEO Healthcare locations.
The role is also responsible for maintaining patient health records(paper-based and electronic) at the GEO Healthcare facility includingmaintaining confidentiality and security of the records.

Opportunity exists for Part Time position at Karreenga Correctional Centre, based in Lara VIC.

Full time salary $65k +Super (adjusted for pro-rata part-time hours).

• Responsible for establishing, maintaining, assembling, classifyingand filing health data received for each patient in accordance withestablished GEO Healthcare procedures and the health recordsrequirements.
• Reviews patient electronic medical records (EMRs) for completenessand accuracy, referring incomplete or inaccurate records to theappropriate health staff member or other individual for correction.
• Ensures necessary signatures are obtained for laboratory, x-ray,electrocardiograph reading and other reports to complete all healthrecords.
• Other duties as directed by the Health Services Manager or thePrimary Healthcare Team Leader. (Team Leader)
• Good organization skills and the ability to prioritize workload.
• Ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels; and toestablish a collaborative work environment.

Other Requirements of the role:

• Valid and current full Australian driver’s license.
• Ability to work within a prison setting, which will involve direct contactwith people in prison associated with the delivery of healthcare.
• Satisfactory completion of a National Criminal History Check.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a security clearance.
