Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service Pharmacy team is seeking a Pharmacist to deliver clinical pharmacy services across clinical and dispensary areas in Mount Isa. You will support medication reviews, histories, therapeutic drug monitoring, discharge planning and patient counselling.

You will contribute to quality improvement, staff training and the ongoing development of pharmacy policies, with opportunities in CPMP training and collaboration.

Qualifications

• Clinical pharmacy services experience desirable.
• Ability to perform medication reviews and counselling.

Responsibilities

• Provide clinical pharmacy services in a multidisciplinary environment.

About the role

As a Pharmacist, you'll provide professional, client-focused clinical pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, with support and guidance aligned to your level of experience. You'll rotate through clinical and dispensary areas, contributing to medication reviews, medication histories, therapeutic drug monitoring, discharge planning and counselling, drug information services and collaborative prescribing activities.

You'll also have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, professional development, staff training and supervision, and the ongoing development of pharmacy policies and practices.

Working with us

• Eligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.
• Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.
• Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.

Requirements

• Mandatory requirements are a relevant tertiary degree qualification and appropriate registration/licences.
• The successful applicant must have completed a Bachelor of Pharmacy Degree Course, or equivalent, from a recognised tertiary institution, and possess current registration, or be eligible for registration, as a Pharmacist with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency).
• This position participates in a Pharmacy Department roster plan, which may include an ‘On Call' Service and weekend work.
• C Class Motor Vehicle Licence.
• Pre-employment screening will be conducted for the successful applicant, including Criminal History checks.
• This is a VPD risk role and may require evidence of vaccination or immunity to: Hepatitis A/B, Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis, and Tuberculosis.
• A period of probation may apply.
