Job summary

North West Hospital and Health Service in Mount Isa is seeking a Pharmacist to deliver professional clinical pharmacy services across clinical and dispensary areas. You will participate in medication reviews, histories, therapeutic drug monitoring, discharge planning and counselling, drug information services and collaborative prescribing activities.

You will be supported to contribute to quality improvement, staff development, and the ongoing development of pharmacy policies, with opportunities

Qualifications

  • Bachelor of Pharmacy and current registration with the Pharmacy Board of Australia (AHPRA)
  • Eligible for Pharmacist registration or currently registered
  • Willing to participate in on-call and weekend roster
  • Vaccination/immunity evidence may be required in a VPD role

Responsibilities

  • Provide clinical and dispensary pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary team

Job description

About the roleAs a Pharmacist, you'll provide professional, client-focused clinical pharmacy services within a multidisciplinary healthcare environment, with support and guidance aligned to your level of experience. You'll rotate through clinical and dispensary areas, contributing to medication reviews, medication histories, therapeutic drug monitoring, discharge planning and counselling, drug information services and collaborative prescribing activities.You'll also have opportunities to contribute to quality improvement, professional development, staff training and supervision, and the ongoing development of pharmacy policies and practices.Working with usEligible health practitioners entitled to accrue an additional three days professional development leave per annum, resulting in a total of six days professional development leave per annum.Eligible health practitioners working in designated remote areas will be entitled to a professional development allowance of $3,512.00 per annum.Rural and Remote incentive: Category D allowance of $431.22 p.f.Tax savings through salary sacrificing options are also available.Transfer and appointment expenses may be negotiated.Professionally, our HHS values professionalism, leadership capability, excellence and resilience in our staff.
