Job summary

Chrysos is seeking a maintenance engineer to support PhotonAssay equipment in Perth, WA. You will work with a global team, performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and on-site training to ensure optimal uptime.

You will liaise with project managers, physicists and customers, driving safety, reliability and continuous improvement across Australia, including remote sites. A strong engineering background and hands-on maintenance skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Tertiary qualification in engineering (electrical, electronic or mechatronic) or closely related technical discipline.
• Demonstrated experience in maintaining technical equipment.
• Safety-first focus and commitment to safe work practices.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness and ability to travel within Australia, including remote mine sites.
• Rights to work in Australia and a current driver’s licence.
• Proficiency with office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

Responsibilities

• Maintenance of PhotonAssay equipment in Perth, including mechanical, electrical and software aspects.
• Schedule and perform monthly maintenance and respond to breakdowns to minimise downtime.
• Generate detailed maintenance and repair reports.
• Provide technical support via phone, email and remote access; liaise with Chrysos HQ and partners.
• Train customers on safe operation and basic troubleshooting.
• Monitor system performance and propose engineering improvements.
• Test equipment for performance and safety compliance.
• Supervise contractors and manage upgrades per specifications.
• Assist in continuous improvement of maintenance processes and in installation/commissioning of new units.
• Maintain spares inventory and on-site record keeping.
• Support a safe, inclusive culture and adhere to health and safety policies.
