Job summary

Eurofins Scientific in Australia seeks a highly technical senior residue chemist in Girraween, Western Sydney. You will assist the Laboratory Manager to ensure compliance with internal standards, policies and external regulations.

As a SME for GLP residue studies, you will lead method development, validation of extraction techniques and instrument optimisation, and liaise with customers on milestones and test results, while training staff in new procedures.

Qualifications

• BSc in Chemistry with 5 years’ analytical lab experience.
• MS Word and MS Excel preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal and teamwork abilities.

• Fast learner with versatile approach.

Responsibilities

• Acting as subject matter expert (SME) for GLP residue studies and managing project from planning to reporting.
• Hands-on method development and validation of extraction techniques and instrumentation optimisation.
• Knowledge in operating and developing methodologies for test equipment including HPLC-UV/RF, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS.
• Reviewing data acceptability according to internationally recognised criteria and troubleshooting.
• Liaising with customers on project milestones and reporting on test results.
• Writing test method protocols, work instructions and other Laboratory Quality Manual documents.
• Training chemists, technicians and laboratory assistants in new procedures and techniques; verifying training for staff training records.

Job Description

We are seeking a highly technical, customer focus experienced senior residue chemist in Girraween, Western Sydney. As a senior chemist, you will assist the Laboratory Manager to conform to internal standards, policies and procedures and external legislative requirements.

Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

• Acting as subject matter expert (PI) for GLP residue studies. Managing project form from project planning, execution to reporting.
• Hands on method development and validation of extraction techniques and instrumentation optimisation.
• Sound knowledge in operating, developing methodology for test equipment including HPLC-UV/RF, GC-MS/MS and LC-MS/MS.
• Reviewing data acceptability according to international recognised criteria and troubleshooting
• Liaising with customers on project milestones and reporting on test results
• Writing of test method protocol , work instructions and other Laboratory Quality Manual Documents.
• Training chemists, technicians and laboratory assistants in new procedures and techniques. Verifying training for Staff Training Records.

Qualifications

• Minimum BSc in Chemistry plus 5 years’ experience in an analytical chemistry laboratory
• Knowledge of standard office applications, especially MS Word and MS Excel would be preferred
• Excellent interpersonal skills, a ‘can do’ attitude, excellent team player and willing to work collaboratively as part of a productive and safety-focused team.
• Quick learner, able to pick things up fast, and versatile in approach.
• Team player who can work well with others.
