Job summary

NES Fircroft in Perth seeks a Senior Systems Engineer to lead the CCS project's system engineering scope on a 12‑month contract. You will define, integrate, verify and manage a cutting-edge CCS system, ensuring safety, technical integrity, quality, and schedule adherence.

You will lead risk assessments, interface management, and provide technical guidance to cross-disciplinary teams while travelling to sites as required.

Qualifications

• Extensive system engineering experience in oil & gas, LNG, or CCS projects.
• Proficient in HAZID/HAZOP/LOPA and risk-based reviews.
• Deep CO2 system knowledge, including dense phase and impurities.
• Experience with ICSS and topsides/subsea interfaces.
• Strong requirements management and interface coordination.
• Proven leadership and communication without direct authority.

Responsibilities

• Lead system engineering scope for CCS project across phases.
• Define control/operating bases and integrate ICSS/subsea interfaces.
• Manage system requirements, impurity philosophies, verification strategies.
• Provide guidance to ensure operability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
• Lead technical reviews, risk assessments, and stakeholder interfaces.
• Support operations with operating philosophies aligned to design.
• Foster collaboration across multidisciplinary teams.
