Job summary

Blue Collar Recruitment seeks an experienced Chef for a high-volume operation at Perth Airport, preparing hot and cold meals for international and domestic passengers. You will follow set recipes, maintain quality and hygiene, and work with a 40-chef team in a fast-paced environment.

The role offers casual agency work with the potential to transition to a full-time contract within 3 months. 5+ years experience and a Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery are required.

Qualifications

• Full Work Rights in Australia
• Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (mandatory)
• Experience with high volume cooking is preferred
• Excellent knife skills and experience in a commercial or high-output kitchen
• Strong understanding of HACCP and food safety processes
• Quality and consistency, following set recipes
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Reliable, team-oriented attitude and excellent communication skills
• Flexible to mornings and evenings - mainly Monday-Friday
• Willingness to complete a police check, pre-employment medical, and drug & alcohol test.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook hot and cold meals according to menu specs and portion guidelines
• Maintain high standards of food quality, taste, and visual presentation
• Monitor wastage and portion control as part of daily production targets
• Work collaboratively with your section and wider kitchen team to meet deadlines
• Keep your workspace clean and hygienic in line with HACCP procedures
• Contribute to safety and quality records as required by aviation food standards
