Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking dedicated Personal Support Workers to help clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes in Biloela, Queensland. You will provide personal care, assist with mobility, and support daily living tasks as part of a compassionate care team.

Qualifications

• Excellent listening and communication skills are required.
• Willingness to obtain NDIS Screening and Blue Cards if not already held.
• Hold a current driver's licence and have reliable transport.
• Experience in care settings or relevant formal qualifications are preferred.
• Ability to work a fixed fortnightly roster with varied shifts.

Responsibilities

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs using hoists when required.
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene.
• Personal care including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
• Basic wound care and self-medication assistance.
• Domestic tasks (meal prep, housekeeping, laundry).
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities).

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll directly assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Basic wound care and self medication
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)

About You

We are looking for people who:

• Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
• Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
• Hold a current driver's licence and have a reliable vehicle
• Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
• Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
