Job summary

Spinal Life Australia is seeking Support Workers to assist clients with spinal cord injuries in their home environments around Rockhampton.

You will provide personal care, mobility support and domestic tasks, while operating within fixed rosters to ensure predictable work–life balance. A current driver’s licence and relevant screening (NDIS/Blue Card) are required or pursued.

Qualifications

• Experience in personal care or similar support roles.
• Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
• Willingness to obtain NDIS Worker Screening and Blue Card if not already held.

Responsibilities

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required.
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene.
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management.
• Basic wound care and self medication.
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry).
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities).

About the Role

As a Personal Support Worker, you'll directly assist clients with acquired spinal cord injuries in their homes.

Your Responsibilities Will Include

• Transfers in and out of bed and wheelchairs, using hoists as required
• Grooming, bathing, dressing and dental hygiene
• Personal care, including toileting, bladder and bowel management
• Basic wound care and self medication
• Domestic support (meal preparation, household duties and laundry)
• Community access (driving to appointments and social activities)

About You

• Are excellent listeners and communicate authentically
• Can work a fixed fortnightly roster (morning, afternoons, evenings and overnights available)
• Hold a current driver's licence and have a reliable vehicle
• Hold, or willing to obtain, NDIS Workers Screening and Blue Cards
• Are experienced in the field, and/or hold relevant qualifications.
