Job summary

Southern Cross Care NSW is hiring two full-time Personal Carers for our aged care homes in Broken Hill. You’ll deliver compassionate, person-centred care to residents, including bathing, dressing and daily living activities, with support from Enrolled & Registered Nurses.

Enjoy ongoing training, opportunities to obtain a Certificate III in Aged Care, and a team culture that values respect and flexibility. You’ll work 38 hours weekly on rotating shifts in a 24/7 facility.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent (desirable).
• Medication Assist Competency (desirable).
• Understanding of Aged Care and Residents’ rights and responsibilities.
• Dedicated to caring for older people to live their best lives.
• Work well within a team environment with a friendly, approachable manner.
• Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills.
• 38 hours per week, rotating shift work, 24/7 operation.

As a Personal Carer you will be working as part of a compassionate and dedicated team providing the highest standard of person-centred care to our residents. In this role, you will join a care team where compassion and empathy accompany the delivery of exceptional clinical and personal care to our residents every day. Under the leadership of the Enrolled & Registered Nurses, you will demonstrate sensitivity and maturity to provide personal care to our residents, including bathing, dressing, toileting and other support services depending on the individual resident's needs.

• You will hold a Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent (desirable)

• Strong attention to detail and outstanding communication skills
• You will be required to work 38 hours per week, Monday to Sunday including (rotating) shift work as the facility operates 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
