Job summary

Southern Cross Care WA is seeking a casual Care Worker to support residents at Germanus Kent House in Broome. You will help with daily activities, ensure residents feel safe and at home, and work as part of a tight-knit team across morning and afternoon shifts.

The role emphasizes compassionate care, dignity, and engaging with residents and their families. A Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Care is required, plus strong communication and organisational skills.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care/Individual Care required.
• Initiative & the ability to effectively prioritise & multitask.
• Great communication skills (spoken & written).
• Attention to detail for good record keeping.

Responsibilities

• Carefully read & follow care plans.
• Assist with personal care.
• Work under the guidance of Shift Managers (Nursing & Facility).
• Treat our residents & their family with respect.

About The Role And Where You’ll Be Working

Caring for the local Broome community since 2008, Germanus Kent House provides accommodation and support to 55 residents.

As a Carer, you’ll be playing an important role assisting residents with their daily activities such as showering & getting dressed. We want them feel safe, and at home in our facilities.

We're a tight knit team at each of our facilities, and this goes a long way to ensure that we can manage our busy schedules, whilst sharing some laughs and banter.

This is a casual Care Worker role working across morning and afternoon shifts.

Your Responsibilities Will Include But Not Limited To

• Carefully read & follow care plans
• Assist with personal care
• Work under the guidance of Shift Managers (Nursing & Facility)
• Treat our residents & their family with respect
• Show compassion & exercise patience

About You

You are someone who connects with the values of Southern Cross Care WA and understands the meaningful impact this role has on the lives of older people. You’re confident working independently and find fulfilment in spending time with elderly residents, supporting them with dignity and kindness.
