Job summary

ARRCS is seeking a qualified Personal Care Worker for Home Care in Katherine, NT. This casual role involves visiting clients in their homes, delivering personal care, mobility support, meal assistance and light household tasks. You’ll travel within the local area and must have a reliable, insured vehicle.

Visa sponsorship is not available. The position requires a Certificate III in Aged Care or related field, with a preference for those with medication assistance experience and a Food Handler

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or HACC (preferred with Assist Clients with Medication elective).
• Hold or be willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate (3.2.2A standard).
• Experience in community/Home Care and ability to travel to clients' homes.

Responsibilities

• Provide in-home care including personal care, grooming, mobility and meals assistance.
• Assist with daily living activities and social support while following care plans.
• Travel to clients' homes in Katherine and surrounding area with a fully insured vehicle.

About the role

We have a new opportunity for a qualified and experienced Personal Care Worker to join our Home Care Team in Katherine, NT . This role is available on an ad hoc casual basis only – Meaning, you will be offered shifts only when available – There is not permanent roster provided. This role attracts an hourly rate of $37.26 - $38.72 / hour + 25% casual loading (dependent on skills and experience).

Your role as Personal Care Worker will see you travelling to people’s homes and providing care and support within the consumers home environment, undertaking cleaning, bed making, personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and assisting with meals. You may also be required to assist with social support, taking consumers to appointments and shopping.

As the ideal candidate, you will bring previous experience in either Aged or Disability care. You will be comfortable travelling to people’s homes to provide this care and able to retain a fully insured and reliable vehicle. You will have a caring and understanding approach, whilst also able to understand a client’s care-plan and delegated services provided by their My Aged Care funding. You will enjoy travelling to people’s homes and providing a service with strong customer service attitude and respect.

Skills & experience:

To be considered for this role, we ask that you submit your CV ensuring that you have the below experience and qualifications:

• Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care – With preference given to applicants who completed the ‘Assist Clients with Medication’ elective.
• Hold or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting preferably, however, not essential.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and both verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
• An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role.
• Personal registered and fully comprehensive insured vehicle.

ARRCS mandatory compliance:

It is mandatory for all ARRCS employees to have the below prior to their commencement:

• You must have or lodged a National Police Check within the last 3 months.
• Provide evidence of current Influenza Vaccination.
• NDIS Workers Screening check received or lodged.
