Job summary

ARRCS is seeking a Personal Care Worker to join our Home Care Team on a casual basis in Alice Springs. You will travel to clients’ homes providing personal care, daily living support, and social activities, with shifts allocated as available.

The role pays hourly base rates of $37.26–$38.72, plus a 25% casual loading, depending on experience. Visa sponsorship is not available. ARRCS supports career development and a range of employee benefits.

• Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care.
• Electives HLTHPS006 Assist clients with medication and HLTAAP001/ Recognise healthy body systems.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and meals.
• Assist with activities of daily living and social support in home care settings.
• Travel to clients’ homes to deliver in-home care services.

Skills & experience

• To be considered for this role, we ask that you submit your CV ensuring that you have the below experience and qualifications:
• Minimum of a Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Care, Disability or Home and Community Care – With preference given to applicants who completed the ‘Assist Clients with Medication’ elective.
• Hold or willing to obtain a Food Handlers Certificate to the standard of 3.2.2A.
• Demonstrated experience in assisting with the activities of daily living in a community or Home Care setting preferably, however, not essential.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and both verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to manage and work within a culturally diverse team environment.
• An ability to undertake a range of manual handling functions related to the role.
• Personal registered and insured vehicle.

ARRCS mandatory compliance:

It is mandatory for all ARRCS employees to have the below prior to their commencement – This is not required at application stage only if offered employment.

• A National Police Check within the last 3 months.
• Provide evidence of current Influenza Vaccination.
• NDIS Workers Screening check received or lodged.

About the role

ARRCS are actively sourcing a qualified Personal Care Worker to join our Home Care Team on a casual basis. As a casual employee, there is no guarantee of regular shifts – You will be contacted by the Workforce team with available shifts only.

This role attracts an hourly pay rate of $37.26 - $38.72 / hour gross base + 25% casual loading (dependent on experience).

Based out of our Alice Springs office and servicing clients within inner and regional Alice Springs, your role as Personal Care Worker – Home Care will see you travelling to people’s homes and providing care and support within the consumers home environment. Tasks include undertaking cleaning, bed making, personal care including grooming, showering, mobility and assisting with meals. You may also be required to assist with social support, taking consumers to appointments and shopping.

You will have a caring and understanding approach, whilst also able to understand a client’s care-plan and delegated services provided by their My Aged Care funding. You will enjoy travelling to people’s homes and providing a service with strong customer service attitude and respect.

Visa Sponsorship is NOT available with this role.
