Job summary

UPA Aged Care Solutions is seeking a Personal Carer for a casual pool at Oolong Hostel in Howlong. You’ll support residents to maintain independence, wellbeing and daily living, with flexible shifts and direct UPA employment.

You’ll receive a proper induction, ongoing workplace support and the chance to move into ongoing or permanent roles when opportunities arise. Prior residential aged-care experience and First Aid are desirable.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or actively working toward one.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people.
• Reliable and available for shifts.
• Good communicator and team player.
• Ability to work across a range of days and shift times.

UPA of NSW is building a directly employed casual team of Personal Care Workers/Care Service Employees across Oolong for Christmas, New Year and beyond.

These are direct UPA employment opportunities—not agency placements. You won’t just be another name filling a shift; you’ll be a UPA employee and part of the team from day one.

You’ll receive a proper UPA induction, ongoing workplace support and the chance to work with familiar residents, teams and homes rather than starting from scratch every shift.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee, you’ll support residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the things they enjoy.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing respectful, person-centred care
• Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting residents with mobility
• Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent
• Working closely with nurses and other care employees
• Building positive relationships with residents and their families

YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification, or are actively working towards one where permitted
• Have a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people
• Are reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts
• Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
• Can work across a range of days and shift times

Previous residential aged-care experience and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.

Appointment is subject to satisfactory completion of UPA’s required pre-employment checks, which may include:

As this is casual employment, shifts will depend on operational requirements and your availability. Availability for morning, afternoon, night, weekend and public-holiday shifts will be highly regarded.
