Job summary

UPA of NSW is inviting applications for casual Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee roles across Wahroonga and Sydney for Christmas, New Year and beyond. You’ll join a directly employed team with a clear induction, ongoing support and the chance to work with familiar residents and homes.

These positions offer flexible shifts matched to your availability, competitive casual rates with loadings, and potential progression to ongoing or permanent roles as opportunities arise.

Qualifications

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or an equivalent qualification.
• Show a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people.
• Be reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts.
• Communicate well and enjoy team-based work.

Responsibilities

• Providing respectful, person-centred care to residents.
• Assisting with personal care and daily living activities.
• Supporting mobility and independence of residents.

• Completing accurate care documentation and collaborating with nurses.

ABOUT THE ROLE

Great care is built on trust, consistency and genuine human connection.

As a Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee, you’ll support residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the things they enjoy.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing respectful, person-centred care
• Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting residents with mobility
• Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent
• Completing accurate care documentation
• Working closely with nurses and other care employees
• Building positive relationships with residents and their families

YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification, or are actively working towards one where permitted

Have a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people

Are reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts

Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team

Hold current Australian working rights

Can work across a range of days and shift times

Previous residential aged-care experience and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.

As this is casual employment, shifts will depend on operational requirements and your availability. Availability for morning, afternoon, night, weekend and public-holiday shifts will be highly regarded.
