Job summary

UPA of NSW is seeking Personal Care Workers for casual roles across NSW during Christmas, New Year and beyond. You will be directly employed by UPA and become part of the team from day one.

Great care comes from trusted, consistent connections with residents. You’ll provide person-centred support, mobility assistance and help residents maintain independence, under supervision from care teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent, or actively pursuing where permitted.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people.
• Reliable and able to respond to available shifts.
• Good communication and teamwork.
• Hold current Australian working rights.
• Available for a range of days and shift times.

Responsibilities

• Providing respectful, person-centred care.
• Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities.
• Assisting residents with mobility.
• Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent.
• Completing accurate care documentation.
• Working closely with nurses and other care employees.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee, you’ll support residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the things they enjoy.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing respectful, person-centred care
• Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting residents with mobility
• Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent
• Completing accurate care documentation
• Working closely with nurses and other care employees
• Building positive relationships with residents and their families

YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification, or are actively working towards one where permitted
• Have a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people
• Are reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts
• Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
• Hold current Australian working rights
• Can work across a range of days and shift times

Previous residential aged-care experience and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.
