Induction and ongoing support

Job summary

UPA of NSW is seeking casual Personal Care Workers across NSW to support residents in aged-care and home-care settings. This is direct UPA employment, not agency placement, with induction, ongoing support, and opportunities to move into ongoing roles where available.

You will help residents maintain independence and wellbeing, perform personal care, mobility support, and assist with daily activities while collaborating with nurses and teams.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or actively working towards one.
• Compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people.
• Reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts.
• Australian working rights.
• Able to work across a range of days and shift times.

Responsibilities

UPA of NSW is building a directly employed casual team of Personal Care Workers/Care Service Employees across Oolong for Christmas, New Year and beyond.

ABOUT THE ROLE

As a Personal Care Worker/Care Service Employee, you’ll support residents to maintain their independence, wellbeing and connection to the things they enjoy.

Your responsibilities may include:

• Providing respectful, person-centred care
• Supporting residents with personal care and daily living activities
• Assisting residents with mobility
• Supporting medication administration when appropriately trained and assessed as competent
• Completing accurate care documentation
• Working closely with nurses and other care employees
• Building positive relationships with residents and their families

YOU’LL BE A GOOD FIT IF YOU:

• Hold a Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing), Aged Care or an equivalent qualification, or are actively working towards one where permitted
• Have a compassionate and respectful approach to supporting older people
• Are reliable and comfortable responding to available shifts
• Communicate well and enjoy working as part of a team
• Hold current Australian working rights
• Can work across a range of days and shift times

Previous residential aged-care experience and a current First Aid Certificate are desirable.
