Job summary

Uniting AgeWell is seeking compassionate Personal Care Workers to join our dedicated team in Victoria. We offer permanent part-time roles with rotating shifts including early and late blocks, and opportunities for casual work for greater flexibility.

Join a values-driven, not-for-profit organisation delivering high-quality care to older people across residential and home settings. Travel within our Victoria network may be required.

Qualifications

  • Certificate III in Ageing Support or equivalent required.
  • Experience in residential aged care or home care preferred.
  • Experience with dementia and palliative care highly regarded.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills required.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-based environment.
  • Commitment to dignity, empathy and resident wellbeing.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality, person-centred care respecting residents' individual, cultural and spiritual needs.
  • Provide personal care and support for complex needs, including dementia, palliative, restorative care and pain management.
  • Assist nursing staff with assessments, care planning, documentation and evaluation of care outcomes.
  • Monitor resident wellbeing and promptly report changes to the team.
  • Communicate clearly with residents, families and colleagues.
  • Maintain a safe, clean environment by reporting hazards and issues.
  • Collaborate within a multidisciplinary team to achieve optimal resident outcomes.
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families and team members.

At Uniting AgeWell, our Personal Care Workers provide high quality, person centred care that supports residents to live with dignity, choice and wellbeing. About the role

We currently have the following permanent part-time Personal Care Worker opportunities available:

7:00am-3:00pm | Thursday, Friday, Saturday

2:45pm-9:00pm | Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday

Looking for flexibility? We also have casual opportunities available for candidates seeking a more flexible working arrangement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality, person centred care that respects and supports each resident's individual, cultural and spiritual needs
  • Provide personal care and support to residents with complex care requirements, including dementia care, palliative care, restorative care and pain management
  • Assist nursing staff with resident assessments, care planning, documentation and the evaluation of care outcomes
  • Monitor resident wellbeing and promptly communicate any changes, observations or concerns to the appropriate team members
  • Use effective verbal and written communication skills to engage with residents, families and colleagues, ensuring clear and accurate information sharing
  • Contribute to a safe, clean and comfortable environment by identifying and reporting hazards, maintenance issues or other concerns
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, supporting colleagues and fostering a positive team culture to deliver the best possible outcomes for residents
  • Build positive relationships with residents, families and team members to ensure a compassionate and supportive care experience
What we're looking for

We're seeking compassionate and reliable individuals who are passionate about providing exceptional care and support to older people, helping to enhance their wellbeing, comfort and quality of life within a residential aged care setting.

You will bring:

  • A Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent qualification
  • Previous experience in residential aged care or home care (highly regarded)
  • Experience supporting older people living with dementia and those requiring palliative care (highly regarded)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to build positive relationships with residents, families and colleagues
  • The ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, providing compassionate, person-centred care while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
  • A genuine commitment to treating residents with empathy, dignity and respect, while supporting their wellbeing and quality of life
  • Alignment with our BEST philosophy – Believe, Excel, Support and Trust
Mandatory requirements

Applicants must have, or be willing to obtain:

  • Working with Children Check (Employee)
  • Ability to pass a national police clearance and NDIS Clearance
