Job summary

Pyramid Residential Care Centre in Gordonvale, QLD, is seeking casual Personal Care Workers to join our resident-focused team. You will provide individualised care and support to residents, helping with daily living tasks and mobility as needed.

This hands-on role offers flexible casual shifts within a small, not-for-profit aged care environment. You will work closely with nurses and care staff to ensure dignity, safety and quality of life for residents.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or equivalent.
• Commitment to person-centred care and resident rights.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
• Good organisation and time-management skills.
• Compassionate, reliable, flexible and professional approach.
• Willingness to work across a 24/7 roster.
• Current National Police Certificate.
• Previous experience in residential aged care desirable.

About the Role

As a Casual Personal Care Worker, you will work as part of our multidisciplinary care team to provide individualised care and support based on each resident's needs, preferences and care plan.

This is a hands-on and rewarding role where you will have the opportunity to build genuine relationships with residents and contribute to their comfort, wellbeing and everyday quality of life.

Your responsibilities will include assisting residents with activities of daily living such as showering, dressing, toileting, meals and mobility; supporting residents to maintain their independence wherever possible; observing and reporting changes in residents' physical, emotional or behavioural wellbeing; completing required documentation; and working closely with nursing and care staff to achieve positive resident outcomes.

About You

We are looking for people who genuinely enjoy working with older people and understand the importance of providing care with dignity, patience and respect.

To be considered, you will have:

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Ageing) or an equivalent qualification
• A commitment to person-centred care and resident rights
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
• Good organisation and time-management skills
• A compassionate, reliable, flexible and professional approach
• The ability and willingness to work across a 24/7 roster
• A current National Police Certificate

Previous experience in residential aged care or another healthcare environment is desirable, along with strong resident engagement and customer service skills.
