Job summary

Calvary St Catherines Retirement Community in Berri, SA is seeking a Casual Personal Care Worker to provide resident-centred care and support within the aged care team. You will perform essential personal care tasks and contribute to a warm, respectful environment.

This role requires Certificate III Aged Care or Individual Support and strong communication; training and pre-employment checks apply, with opportunities to grow within one of Australia’s leading healthcare providers.

Qualifications

• Certificate III Aged Care or Individual Support is essential.
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.
• Working knowledge of WHS and Infection Control.
• A desire to join a team committed to the care of others in a mission based organisation.

Responsibilities

• Work within an established and agreed framework to deliver a range of personal care tasks, including, but not limited to daily hygiene, for example: showering; shaving; dressing; mouth and eye care
• Observe the condition of residents and report any changes to the Enrolled Nurse or Registered Nurse, Facility Manager or appropriate person as well as completing the required documentation
• Respect each person’s privacy, dignity and confidentiality when providing services for residents
• Assist residents who require assistance with mobility as per care plan. Residents are to be encouraged to remain ambulatory and independent
• Respect each resident and ensure that they are treated with dignity and given opportunities for making decisions particularly concerning their day to day routine

Care Service Employees work within the aged care team to promote the delivery of quality care to residents and their families, demonstrating competence in the provision of resident-centred care.
