Calvary St Francis Retirement Community in Eleebana is seeking a Personal Care Worker to join our casual pool. You will support residents with daily living tasks, personal care, and dignity in a warm, team-focused environment.

The role emphasizes compassionate, person-centred care, dementia-aware practice and the ability to adapt to changing workloads while maintaining safety and quality. Casual opportunities available.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in individual support or equivalent recognised qualification (essential).
• Experience in dementia support.
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal.
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads.
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person and their needs.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose, allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs of residents through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse and in the resident’s plan of care.
• Assist residents with personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging independence.

About the role

Are you a passionate personal carer who wants to make a real difference to the lives of residents? If you answered yes, then join the team at St Francis, located in Eleebana.

As Personal Care Worker, you will be part of an integrated team of people working within an established and agreed framework attending to the personal needs of residents. This role is instrumental to ensuring that we are providing high quality care to our residents at all times.

Key Responsibilities

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence.
• Contribute to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation.
• Implement clinical and care interventions as delegated by the Registered Nurse, and as documented in the resident’s plan of care.
• Assist the residents with their personal care and hygiene needs whilst encouraging their independence

About you

• Certificate III in individual support, or equivalent recognised qualification (essential)
• Ability to engage with residents and experience in dementia support
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Demonstrated flexibility, empathy and patience with the aged person and their needs
• Demonstrated ability to provide holistic care
• Demonstrated respect for residents’ privacy, dignity and self esteem
• Commitment to continuous quality improvement
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
