Job summary

Calvary Elouera Aged Care in Torquay VIC is seeking compassionate Personal Care Workers to support residents with daily living, activities and personalised care plans. You will contribute to wellbeing, dignity and comfort within a caring team.

The role emphasizes person-centred care, attention to hygiene, mobility support and collaboration with care plans. Flexible hours and a supportive workplace are provided by Calvary.

Qualifications

• Diploma/Certificate in Aged Care or equivalent.
• Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills.
• Knowledge of WH&S and infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

• Support residents to exercise choice and independence.
• Assist residents with one-on-one activities aligned to care plans.
• Contribute to residents' physical, emotional and lifestyle needs via assessment and observation.
• Deliver personal care tasks including hygiene, grooming and continence management.
• Assist with mobility as per care plan.

About the role

Your main duties will include:

• Support residents to live the life they choose allowing them to exercise choice and independence
• Assist the resident in one-on-one activities that support their well-being inclusive of hobbies and interests that are aligned to the care plan
• Contributes to the physical, emotional and lifestyle needs and wants of the residents, through assessment and observation
• Works within an established and agreed framework to deliver a range of personal care tasks, including but not limited to daily hygiene for example showering,shaving, dressing, mouth and eye care and continence management
• Assist residents who require assistance with mobility as per care plan

About you

• Certificate Level III (Individual Support)
• Effective interpersonal communication; both written and verbal
• Demonstrated ability to prioritise workloads
• Working knowledge of WH&S and Infection Control
• Demonstrated experience in a similar role in aged care, health care or hospitality
