Job summary

Woorayl Lodge in Leongatha, VIC, is seeking compassionate casual Personal Care Assistants to join our care team. You’ll support residents with daily living activities, dignity, independence and choice, under the direction of nurses, in a warm, home-like environment.

Certificate III in Individual Support or equivalent is preferred; First Aid/CPR; you value teamwork, good communication, and ongoing education.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent.
• Current First Aid and CPR certificates, or willingness to obtain.
• Genuine commitment to supporting older people with dignity, respect and compassion.
• Strong person-centred approach to care.
• Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively and respectfully as part of a team.
• Willingness to participate in mandatory training and ongoing education.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition and daily living activities.

Job description

We’re seeking compassionate and reliable casual Personal Care Assistants (PCAs) to join our care team at Woorayl Lodge in Leongatha, South Gippsland.

As a PCA at Woorayl Lodge, you’ll provide high-quality, person-centred care that supports residents to maintain their dignity, independence, choices and individual routines. Working as part of our clinical and care team, and under the direction of Registered and Enrolled Nurses, you’ll assist residents with their daily care needs while helping to create a safe, respectful and home-like environment.

Your role will include assisting residents with personal care, mobility, nutrition and hydration and other activities of daily living, as well as observing and reporting changes in residents’ wellbeing and completing required care documentation.

Casual shifts may be available across morning, afternoon and night duty, depending on operational and resident care needs.

What we’re looking for

Certificate III in Individual Support (Aged Care) or equivalent

Current First Aid and CPR certificate, or willingness to obtain

A genuine commitment to supporting older people with dignity, respect and compassion

A strong person-centred approach to care

Good communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills

Ability to work effectively and respectfully as part of a team

Willingness to participate in mandatory training and ongoing education

Current satisfactory police check

Current influenza vaccination, or willingness to obtain

Previous experience in residential aged care is highly regarded but not essential.

Work in a community-owned, not-for-profit aged care organisation
