Job summary

Me cwacare Ballan is seeking a Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide compassionate care to residents in a 51-bed facility. The role covers AM, PM and night shifts, with casual opportunities and a focus on creating a warm, home-like environment.

Qualifications

• Certificate III in Aged Care or equivalent is required.
• At least 1 year of aged care experience in a home setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills with older adults and families.
• Ability to follow individual care plans and escalation procedures.
• Good time management and multi-tasking abilities.

• Conveniently located in central Ballan, approximately 600 metres from Ballan Railway Station, providing easy access to public transport.

What you Bring:

• A minimum Certificate III in Aged Care, Individual Support, or a relevant Certificate III/IV qualification.
• At least 1 year of relevant experience in an aged care home,ideally with proven skills in mentoring and supporting other carers.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with older people and their families.
• The ability to understand and follow individual client care plans.
• Sound problem-solving skills and the judgement to know when to elevate issues to a supervisor.
• Proven time management and multi-tasking abilities.
• A proactive, dedicated approach to delivering best-practice care.
• Flexibility to adapt to workplace demands and a collaborative team spirit.
