Job summary

Lithgow City Council in Lithgow, NSW is seeking a Cleaner to join our Cleansing Unit. You will perform general cleaning across administration offices, maintain hygiene, and follow WHS guidelines to support a safe work environment.

The role requires a valid driver's licence, ability to work independently, and a commitment to safety and customer service. This is a permanent full-time position with ongoing development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Hold a current class C, P1 or P2 drivers licence.
• Ability to provide high quality work to maintain a clean, hygienic, safe environment.
• Knowledge of safe chemical handling according to SDS and manufacturers’ specs.
• Friendly, self-motivated team player capable of working independently.
• Strong organisational skills to manage priorities and meet deadlines.
• Clear communication both verbal and written.
• Understanding of Work Health and Safety (WHS) principles.

Responsibilities

• Undertake general cleaning duties including litter removal, vacuuming, sweeping and mopping floors, wiping surfaces and disinfecting kitchen and bathroom areas.
• Ensure cleanliness of Council and Community Buildings.
• Follow SDS and safety procedures for chemical storage and use.
• Conduct daily and monthly workplace inspections and risk assessments.
• Maintain professional standards and presentation to project a positive image of Council.
