Job summary

The Royal Women's Hospital in Parkville is seeking a Theatre Technician to join the Operating Suite. You will provide technical care in a multidisciplinary team and support surgical services 24/7 as part of a rotating roster.

You will ensure correct functioning of equipment, assist anaesthetists and surgeons, and contribute to patient-focused perioperative care. Competitive benefits include salary packaging and five weeks annual leave.

Qualifications

• Experience in working in multidisciplinary teams.
• Ability to work a rotating roster including nights/weekends.
• Theatre Technician experience per EBA is desirable.
• Experience working within Operating theatre complex.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care in Perioperative Services.
• Keep abreast of equipment and patient positioning.
• Ensure equipment/instrumentation is functioning and checks performed.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate care with anaesthetist, surgeon and nursing staff.
• Promote a supportive learning environment in the operating suite.
