Job summary
Cessnock District Hospital's Surgical Services team is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join the casual perioperative care across the surgical journey, from pre-admission to recovery. You will work across the Preadmission Clinic, Day Stay Unit and operating theatre, providing safe, patient-centred care and collaborating with surgeons, anaesthetists and the broader team.
AHPRA registration and perioperative experience are essential; the role offers flexible hours with salary packaging
Qualifications
- Experience in perioperative settings including pre-admission, day stay and operating theatre.
- Demonstrated ability to provide safe, patient-centred perioperative care.
- AHPRA registered and eligible to practise in Australia.
Responsibilities
- Screen patients in preadmission clinic for surgery preparation.
- Prepare and support patients before surgical procedures.
- Provide post-operative care in Day Stay Unit and Recovery.
- Assist in anaesthetic, recovery, circulating and instrument roles in theatre.
- Monitor patients and escalate concerns promptly.
- Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary team.
- Educate patients and families throughout the perioperative journey.
