Job summary

seek.com.au is seeking multiple Registered Nurses with anaesthetics or recovery experience to join a boutique day surgery. These casual roles offer about seven shifts per month, with flexible scheduling around availability in a modern, patient-focused environment.

Successful candidates will work autonomously in perioperative care, assist anaesthetists, monitor recovery, and maintain equipment while documenting care to meet safety and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with AHPRA.
• Demonstrated recent experience in Anaesthetics, Recovery, or both, within an operating theatre or accredited day surgery.
• Ability to work autonomously with minimal supervision.
• Excellent clinical assessment, critical thinking and decision-making skills.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Commitment to providing exceptional patient-centred care.
• Current National Police Check (or willingness to obtain).
• Unrestricted full working rights in Australia.
• Private hospital or day surgery experience.
• Advanced Life Support (ALS) certification.
• Approximately seven shifts per month, providing an excellent work-life balance.

Responsibilities

• Deliver safe, high-quality nursing care in the Anaesthetic and/or Recovery areas.
• Assist anaesthetists during induction, maintenance and emergence from anaesthesia.
• Provide comprehensive post-anaesthetic care, monitoring and assessing patients during recovery.
• Recognise and respond appropriately to changes in patient condition.
• Prepare and maintain anaesthetic and recovery equipment and medications.
• Ensure accurate clinical documentation and compliance with infection control, accreditation and safety standards.
• Collaborate effectively with surgeons, anaesthetists and the broader perioperative team to ensure efficient theatre operations.
