Job summary

Barwon Health is seeking an anaesthetic nurse who combines perioperative nursing with duties supporting the anaesthetist. You will be integral to the patient’s journey from the perioperative area through PACU, monitoring and managing post-operative care and anaesthetic-related complications.

You will contribute to safe, high-quality, patient-centred care across the perioperative and recovery phases, working in a round‑the‑clock operating theatre environment in Geelong.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with minimum of 12 months acute nursing experience.
• Previous nursing operating theatre experience within anaesthetics.

Responsibilities

• Care for patients from the perioperative area through to the Post Anaesthetic Care Unit (PACU).
• APACU nurse is responsible for care and monitoring of patients immediately after surgery.
• Detected and safely managed complications related to either the surgery or the anaesthetic.
• Provide safe, high-quality and patient-centred care throughout the perioperative and post-operative journey.
