Job summary

Barwon Health in Geelong is seeking an Anaesthetic Nurse to deliver perioperative and PACU care as part of a multidisciplinary team. The role supports patient safety from the perioperative area through recovery in PACU, under the supervision of anaesthetists.

The position offers a dual role within anaesthetics and perioperative care, with a focus on airway management, monitoring and rapid response to changes in patient condition.

Qualifications

• Registered Nurse with minimum of 12 months acute nursing experience.
• Operating theatre experience within anaesthetics is desirable.
• Commitment to evidence-based practice and ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe, high-quality perioperative and PACU care.
• Support the anaesthetist in assessment and management of patients during anaesthesia.
• Monitor patients in PACU and manage complications related to surgery or anaesthesia.
• Apply airway management, monitoring and pain/nausea control.
• Collaborate with surgeons, anaesthetists and multidisciplinary team for safe handover.
