Job summary

CEA Technologies is Australia’s Commonwealth company delivering advanced radar systems and defence programs. The People Partner will provide HR generalist guidance to business units, ensuring policy alignment and compliance while partnering with People Leaders to drive performance and culture.

The role focuses on employee relations, performance management, onboarding and workforce planning across Defence programs.

Qualifications

  • Demonstration of adaptability with the ability to identify risk and opportunities whilst exercising sound judgment.
  • A high level of analytical and problem solving skills.

CEA is an Australian Commonwealth company that designs, develops, manufactures and sustains advanced active phased array radar systems. The company’s design principles and commitment to investment in research and development ensures innovative thinking, technological skill, and quality fabrication. Our programs include the ANZAC and Hunter Class frigates and air defence applications for Army and Air Force, and Range applications. Through our longstanding and ongoing collaboration with Defence, CEA Technologies has undertaken research and development into all aspects of active electronically scanned array technologies. This has resulted in the creation of a highly modular and scalable product suite, which have become integral to a wide range of critical Defence capabilities.

The Position

The People Partner role is responsible for providing HR generalist advice and support to designated business units, ensuring compliance and alignment with organisational policies and objectives. This role partners closely with People Leaders and line managers to provide expert guidance and hands‑on assistance across the full spectrum of HR functions – including employee relations, performance management, strategic workforce planning and new employee onboarding. The People Partner role plays a key function in fostering a high performing, engaged and compliant workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Stakeholder Engagement and Business Partnerships:

Build understanding of the business unit’s key drivers/issues.

Support the early resolution of employee relations matters and issues, escalating where appropriate, ensuring appropriate administration and record keeping as required by relevant legislation

Provide advice in relation to performance management discussions, ensuring appropriate administration and record keeping as required by relevant legislative frameworks

Manage a range of conflict resolution pathways in consultation with relevant People Leader and employee

Conduct employee exit interviews, identifying key trends of exit reasons to ensure People & Culture policies, procedures and initiatives are aligned with employee expectations and strategic objectives.

Leverage knowledge of industrial legislation, awards, and company policies to facilitate effective consultation and negotiation processes.

Organisational Culture

Identify, assess and encourage workplace values and behaviours to foster an engaged, inclusive and high performing workforce;

Advise managers on how to assess their workforce management practices and their team’s culture and level of engagement against workplace values.

Employee Services

Deliver customer focussed human resources services to optimise the employment life cycle experience at an individual and organisational level;

Respond in an appropriate and timely manner to employment queries and provide relevant information, explanation and advice to employees.

Comply with organisational procedure, policies and legislative/regulatory requirements.

Exercise a high level of discretion and confidentiality in relation to all HR activities.
