Job summary

Belmont 16ft Sailing Club is seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to lead the Club’s HR function, partnering with leaders to shape the employee experience and culture on Belmont Bay. You will oversee employee relations, recruitment, payroll and health & safety, while guiding workforce development and visa processes.

You will build strong relationships across the Club, provide trusted guidance to leadership, and drive modern HR practices.

Qualifications

• Broad generalist HR experience (min five years) in operational or frontline environments.
• Qualifications in Human Resources, Business, Management or equivalent.
• Experience across full employee lifecycle: recruitment, ER, performance, planning, L&D, compliance.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment law, IR, EA, and employment conditions.
• Experience handling complex ER matters and coaching leaders.
• Experience with workforce planning, recruitment strategy, and apprenticeships.
• Experience coordinating employer-sponsored visas (Subclass 482, 186) and immigration liaison.
• Strong WHS, workers' compensation, return to work, psychosocial risk management.
• Payroll with EA adherence and entitlements.
• Experience with HR systems, data reporting and analytics.
• Strong communication, confidentiality, and stakeholder credibility.
• Ability to balance strategic and hands-on HR delivery.
• NSW RSA and RCG competency or willingness to obtain.
• Hospitality or operational workforces experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead HR function across employee relations, investigations, grievances and performance.
• Oversee recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning, succession and talent development.
• Drive learning, leadership capability and employee engagement.
• Shape culture, wellbeing, recognition, and safety initiatives.
• Interpret Enterprise Agreements and manage industrial relations.
• Oversee rostering and payroll oversight.
• Oversee WHS, workers' compensation, return to work.
• Drive HR systems, records, reporting and digital processes.
• Manage policies, contracts, and workforce governance.
• Lead organisational change and visa processes.
• Apprentice development and partnerships with training providers.
• Leverage AI and HR tech to improve efficiency.
