You will oversee the full employee lifecycle, partner with management on people strategies, and ensure best-practice HR processes in a family-owned SME environment. Strong knowledge of Australian employment law is essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar HR role (SME/family-owned).
• Tertiary qualification in HR or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial awards, NES and OHS.

We are seeking an experienced Full-Time Human Resources Manager to lead our HR function, providing strategic guidance and hands-on operational support across the business.

This is an exciting opportunity for a hands on, fast paced, proactive, people-focused HR professional to shape workplace culture, develop talent and ensure best-practice HR processes in a family-owned business.

About the Role

You will oversee the full employee lifecycle, from recruitment and onboarding through to performance management, employee relations, payroll and offboarding. You will partner with management to develop people strategies, strengthen employee engagement and ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement HR strategies, policies and procedures.
• Lead end to end recruitment, onboarding, workforce planning and succession planning.
• Manage employee relations, workplace investigations and performance management.
• Oversee payroll, superannuation, remuneration and employee entitlements.
• Ensure compliance with Australian employment legislation, industrial awards and workplace requirements including Fair Work, NES, Modern Awards and OHS obligations.
• Drive employee engagement, training, development and workplace culture initiatives.
• Monitor HR metrics and provide workforce reporting to support business decisions.
• Oversee injury management, WorkCover claims and return-to-work processes.

About You

To be successful, you will have:

• A minimum of 5 years’ experience within a similar role, preferably within a family-owned privately held, or SME environment.
• Tertiary qualification in HR or a related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of Australian employment legislation, industrial awards and workplace relations.
• Experience across the employee lifecycle, payroll, superannuation and HR reporting.
• Excellent communication, leadership and stakeholder management skills to confidently present to the management team and board members.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage competing priorities.
• A proactive, hands-on and solutions-focused approach.
• Knowledge Microsoft suite and HR systems (Employment Hero advantageous)
• Experience in both white-collar and blue-collar environments will be highly regarded.
