Job summary

Stopgap in Sydney is seeking a hands-on People & Culture / HR professional to support a growing workforce across Australia and the US. The role covers contracts, onboarding, offboarding, performance reviews, policies, and recruitment coordination across both markets.

You will work with an external senior HR consultant on more complex matters and have flexibility: an HR Coordinator/Advisor level or a more senior four-day-a-week opportunity.

Qualifications

• Experience as a hands-on HR professional supporting a mid-sized workforce.
• Ability to manage contracts, onboarding/offboarding, and performance processes.
• Familiarity with HR policies, procedures and employment legislation.

Responsibilities

• Manage employee contracts and HR documentation.
• Coordinate onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Support performance review cycles and policy updates.
• Assist with recruitment and talent acquisition across AU and US.
• Coordinate interviews, offers and candidate experience.

An exciting opportunity to join a successful Australian business experiencing significant growth across both Australia and the US.

As the team continues to expand, they’re looking for a hands-on People & Culture / HR professional to help support their growing workforce and strengthen the people processes around it.

This is a broad, practical role covering:

• Employee contracts and HR documentation
• Coordinating onboarding and offboarding
• Supporting performance review processes
• Maintaining and evolving HR policies and procedures
• Supporting recruitment and talent acquisition across Australia and the US
• Briefing and managing external recruitment partners as required
• Coordinating interviews, offers and the candidate experience
• Providing day-to-day HR support to managers and employees
• Supporting people & culture and employee engagement initiatives
• Managing general HR administration, employee records and processes

You’ll have the support of an external senior HR consultant for more complex or sensitive matters, such as employee relations, performance and disciplinary issues, terminations, workers’ compensation, employment legislation and other higher-risk HR matters.

We’re flexible on level. You could be an HR Coordinator / HR Advisor ready to take greater ownership, or a more experienced People & Culture professional looking for a four-day-a-week opportunity.

What’s most important is that you’re proactive, organised, approachable and comfortable working in a fast-moving, entrepreneurial environment where you can genuinely help shape the people function as the business grows.

Full-time preferred, however 4 days per week may be considered for a more experienced candidate.
