Job description

Are you passionate about creating exceptional employee experiences and helping leaders build high-performing teams? Join WQPHN and play a key role in supporting workforce capability, organisational culture and employee wellbeing across Western Queensland.

Western Queensland PHN (WQPHN) is seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to support the delivery of practical, people-focused workforce initiatives that strengthen leadership capability and enhance employee experience.

As the operational core of our People & Culture function, you’ll work closely with leaders across the organisation, providing guidance, tools and support that enable them to confidently manage day-to-day people matters while ensuring strong governance, compliance and workforce practices.

This is an exciting opportunity for a capable HR professional who enjoys balancing operational delivery with process improvement, people leadership support and continuous improvement initiatives that contribute to a positive and high-performing workplace.

About Western Queensland PHN

Western Queensland Primary Health Network (WQPHN) is an independent, not-for-profit organisation funded by the Australian Government to strengthen primary health care across Western Queensland.

We work in close partnership with health providers, communities and key stakeholders to improve health outcomes across one of Australia's largest and most geographically diverse regions.

Our people are at the centre of everything we do. We are committed to creating a workplace that supports collaboration, innovation, wellbeing and continuous learning while delivering meaningful outcomes for our communities.

The Role

WQPHN is seeking a People & Culture Coordinator to coordinate the delivery of People & Culture activities across the organisation while acting as a trusted first point of contact for leaders and employees.

As the operational core of our People & Culture function, you’ll coordinate workforce processes, support People Leaders, contribute to workforce initiatives, and help deliver a positive employee experience across the organisation.

The role supports all stages of the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, performance and development, employee engagement, wellbeing, recognition, workforce reporting, policy administration and governance activities. A key focus of the position is supporting People Leaders by providing practical advice, tools, coaching and escalation pathways that build confidence and capability in managing people matters.

Working closely with the Head of Strategy, Governance & Corporate Services and external People & Culture advisers, you will contribute to the ongoing development of WQPHN’s People & Culture function through process improvement, workforce initiatives and continuous enhancement of employee experience. Initial 12 month contract with the possibility of extension, 0.8FTE - flexible hours to work around your schedule, 4 day week or 5 days with school hours.

Support WHS, workers' compensation and workforce-related compliance activities.

Contribute to workforce planning, organisational capability and continuous improvement initiatives.

Support reconciliation initiatives and activities that promote an inclusive and culturally safe workplace.
