You'll manage employee relations matters from end to end, coach operational leaders, conduct workplace investigations and provide practical employment law advice while partnering with leaders across a workforce of almost 800 employees. You will work closely with operational leaders to provide practical HR advice, support managers and employees, and foster a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.

Reporting to the People & Culture Manager, you will partner with our aged care homes to provide expert advice across a broad range of employee relations and generalist HR matters. You will also contribute to People & Culture initiatives, workforce projects, injury management, and compliance activities that align with Moran Health Care Group's strategic objectives.

About the Role

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing end-to-end medium and high-risk employee relations matters, including misconduct, grievances, complaints, performance management, short and long-term absences.
  • Providing timely, practical and compliant employee relations advice to managers, including preparing correspondence and participating in workplace meetings.
  • Conducting fair, objective and well-documented workplace investigations in accordance with legislation, industrial instruments and organisational policies.
  • Assisting managers with performance improvement processes and preparing documentation relating to performance management and employment outcomes.
  • Providing guidance on People & Culture policies, procedures and employment legislation.
  • Coordinating injury management and return-to-work processes.
  • Identifying opportunities to improve employee relations practices, reporting and case management processes.
  • Maintaining accurate HR records and ensuring documentation complies with legislative and organisational requirements.
  • Assisting with the delivery of People & Culture initiatives and organisational projects.
  • Maintaining employee information within HR systems and preparing HR reports.
  • Providing generalist HR advice across the employee lifecycle.
About You

You're someone who enjoys solving workplace issues, building trusted relationships with leaders and providing practical HR advice.

You thrive in a fast-paced environment where no two days are the same and enjoy balancing operational HR with opportunities to improve processes and contribute to broader People & Culture initiatives.

You'll have a solid understanding of Australian employment legislation and enjoy keeping up to date with changes to employment law, industrial relations and workplace compliance.

What You’ll Bring:

  • A qualification in Human Resources, Employment Relations or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrated experience managing employee relations matters and workplace investigations.
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation, Modern Awards and industrial relations principles.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make balanced and evidence-based decisions.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • The ability to build effective working relationships with managers and employees at all levels.
  • High levels of professionalism, judgement and discretion when handling confidential matters.
  • Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities.
  • Experience using Microsoft Office and HR information systems.
  • A current unrestricted Class C Driver Licence and willingness to travel to Moran sites when required.
  • Current influenza vaccination and COVID-19 vaccinations in accordance with Government and organisational requirements.

At Moran, you’ll be part of an organisation that values professional growth, continuous improvement and meaningful work. We offer:

  • Partner directly with experienced operational leaders and executives.
  • Work across a large, complex and highly regulated workforce.
  • Gain hands‑on exposure to Australian employment law and employee relations.
  • Be trusted to manage your own portfolio of cases.
